Grey Days

January gloom is a common thing

Not enough sunlight to let the light in

So now we are used to a canopy of grey

Starting at dawn

And lasting all day

Curtains pulled early

Shutting out night

Instead now, there's electric light

Somehow though cosy

It is not quite the same

Our eyelids look heavy

from computer games

Since this was written

I have started to smile

For the sun broke the clouds

There is light for a while!
