A MOMENT IN TIME

We ran up the hill, excited, you and me
Cameras in hand, to capture all we could see

There in the still, sun slipping down
The sky spread red fingers in the air all around.

As we watched in awe at the pattern unfolding
Shapes and colours fused, continually evolving

We gathered the pictures and laughed at our treasure
Feeling wonder and awe in equal measure
Well, that's how it seemed

As our joyful hearts lifted immersed in the beams.

Slowly fading to tones of pink and then grey
A wondrous end to that Autumn day

The image remains, locked in my heart
A return to childhood to be a small part

Of the moment, the scene,
A magical time, both reality and dream!
