AT THIRTEEN

Now dear one,
A Time for joy
Moving on from being a boy
Reaching here, through thirteen years
Loads of laughter
A few small tears

You've played the games
The best football,

Worked hard succeeding
At your school

Use all you have learned
To make the choice
The way to go

Let them hear your voice!

Be aware of that
Which you know is right
Working it out
Can be quite a fight

Then, ask yourself
Is this really me?
And follow the path
Where you know you should be.

A poem for a much loved grandson
